London Calling: Wardrobe Wonders Style Revamp Workshop

Wow – what a week!

I’ve just landed back in Milan after spending a whirlwind few days in London, and I had such a great time!

The first stop on my British itinerary was speaking at a Women in Business event, organised by crowd funding platform CrowdVelocity. It was such an honour to join an impressive line-up of female speakers and a great opportunity for me to give some insight about the importance of personal image to an audience of professional women and entrepreneurs (and of course share my top tips!).

I made time to do some sight-seeing and catch up with friends, but the highlight of my trip was the Wardrobe Wonders Style Revamp workshop that I hosted.

The best part of my job is that I get to work with motivated and driven women who are not afraid to be themselves, and this workshop was no exception!

Whether you’re a business woman or a mum (or both!), in order to thrive it’s essential to take the time to make sure you feel good about yourself – and your image and the way you dress can have a big impact on your mindset.

At the live workshop I got to spend the evening with 7 women who, for all very different reasons, were looking to take their wardrobe to the next level and make their clothes work for them.

We talked about how what we wear on the outside affects how we feel on the inside, and all the ladies agreed that whether they were in the board room, at the school gate or working at home on their online business that it was important to them to look good.

Every woman has different concerns when it comes their wardrobe and the way they dress – as with a lot of things in life our actions and reactions are governed by the stories we tell ourselves: “I’m the wrong shape to wear dresses”, “That colour doesn’t suit me”, “I have to wear trousers to be taken seriously”.

During the workshop we tackled some of these stories and busted some myths – I showed everyone how understanding your skin tone means a whole rainbow of colours that you thought you couldn’t wear opens up to you; how accessories can make or break an outfit; and how to dress up (and dress down) items you already own, so no matter what the occasion you always have something to wear – without needing a wardrobe the size of Kim Kardashian’s!

It’s a well-known fact that first impressions count and that we all want to be remembered for the right reasons. Coco Chanel famously said, “Dress shabbily and they remember the dress; dress impeccably and they remember the woman.”

The women who attended my workshop want to be remembered for how they really are – intelligent, motivated, knowledgeable, ambitious – and by stepping up their style game they are building a powerful & authentic personal image which leaves a long lasting and positive impression on all they meet.

I’d like to thank all of the ladies I met in London for so warmly welcoming me to the city.  It was inspiring to meet so many women who are committed to improving not only their own lives, but the lives of those around them. I can’t wait to come back again soon!
